"The most important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all."
Dale Carnegie
It may feel hopeless to some, but across the world on September 21st people gathered to honor and celebrate the UN initiated International Day of Peace.
It is meant to be a day of global cease-fire and, by intentional participation, a day to strengthen the ideals of peace.
The New Hampshire campaign to establish a U.S. Department of Peace and Nonviolence participated in a variety of events in the state to do just that, strengthen the ideals of peace and keep the hope enlivened.
Over the course of the weekend the NHDoP collaborated with a full spectrum of activities and committed citizen peacebuilders.

- Harlow's Pub - Peterborough
On Saturday evening at Harlow's Pub, Becky Hudson was presented with a Community Service Award for her unyielding belief in Peace and support of the campaign.
In conjunction with the NHDoP, Harlow's Pub (www.harlowspub.com), an eclectic and happening night spot in the heart of downtown Peterborough, hosted the musical gifts of Cecilia St. King.
Cecilia, known as the Peace Troubadour, has performed with her guitar both throughout the US and internationally.
Since witnessing the collapse of the World Trade Towers in NYC on 9-11 she has rededicated her singing talent to the spreading of Peace.
Her latest CD, "Your Word is Magic", compiles a heartfelt collection of songs of hope and intention including "Hello Peace on Earth" which is offered as a download on her web space (www.myspace.com/ceciliastkingmusic).
